The Roles of Different Types of Bearings

The Roles of Different Types of Bearings

According to the analysis and comparison of the structure and size characteristics of rolling bearings, in most rolling bearing codes, the inner and outer diameters of bearings with the same right three digits are exactly the same (needle roller bearings, one-way thrust ball bearings and non-standard bearings are excluded). For example, the boundary dimension of 6308 (the original code name 308) bearings is exactly the same as N308 (the original code name 2308), NU308 (the original code name 32308), NJ308 (the original code name 42308), 6308N6308N (YUANDAIH, 6308N (the original code name 50308), 6308Z (the original code name 6308), 1308 (the original code name), 7308C (the original code name 36308), and 7308AC (the original code name 46308) , which is 40×90×23 (mm).

Therefore, in the selection of substitute bearings, when the same all kinds of bearings can not be found, other types of bearings can be widely selected. So what are the different types of bearings and how do they interact with each other? Let's take a look.

The different types of bearings:

1. Cylindrical roller bearings and deep groove ball bearings are substituted for each other, followed by self-aligning ball bearings or self-aligning roller bearings.

2. Tapered roller bearings are substituted with angular contact ball bearings and deep groove ball bearings.

3. Self-aligning roller bearings and self-aligning ball bearings are substituted for each other.

The different functions of different types of bearings:

1. Deep groove ball bearings

This kind of bearing has high revolving speed, high precision, low noise and low vibration. They mainly bear radial load, but can also bear a certain axial load. The manufacturing is simple and the cost is low.

2. Angular contact ball bearings

This kind of bearing has high speed, high precision, low noise and low vibration. They can bear radial and axial load at the same time and be used in pairs.

3. Cylindrical roller bearings

The revolving speed of this kind of bearing is lower than that of ball bearings with the same size, the accuracy is high, the noise and vibration are low, and they mainly bear radial load. The inner and outer rings with flanges can bear less axial load.

4. Self-aligning roller bearings

This kind of bearing has low revolving speed, good impact resistance, good vibration resistance, and automatic self-aligning function, that is, when the inner ring axis relative to the outer ring axis has a large inclination (generally within 3 degrees), the bearing can still operate normally. They mainly bear large radial load and small axial load.

5. Needle roller bearings

The revolving speed is high, and they can bear higher radial load (than other bearings of the same radial size), but can not bear axial load. The rigidity is high.

6. Axial direction of aligning ball

The revolving speed is high. This kind of bearing has automatic self-alignment function and  impact resistance, but the rigidity and vibration ability are poor.

7. Thrust ball bearings

The revolving speed of the thrust ball bearings is low, and they can only bear single axial load. The shaft ring and seat ring can not tilt.

8. Double row thrust ball bearings

The revolving speed is low, and they can bear double axial loads. The shaft ring and seat ring can not tilt.

9. Double row centripetal thrust ball bearings

The bearings have high revolving speed and accuracy, a certain rigidity, but poor impact resistance. They can bear double axial loads. The shaft ring and seat ring can not tilt.

10. Double row angular contact ball bearings

The bearings have high revolving speed and accuracy, a certain rigidity, but poor impact resistance. The equivalent of two sets of angular contact ball bearings should be mounted back to back.

11. Double row cylindrical roller bearings

The bearings have high revolving speed and accuracy, high rigidity, and good impact resistance and vibration resistance. They can not bear axial load.

12. Tapered roller bearings

The tapered roller bearings have high revolving speed and accuracy, high rigidity, and good impact resistance and vibration resistance. They can bear large axial load.

13. Thrust cylindrical roller bearings

The bearings have high revolving speed, high rigidity and good impact resistance. They can only bear single axial load. The shaft ring and seat ring can not tilt.
